A native of Bulgaria, Laskarov received a Bachelor of Arts degree from the State Academy of Music in Sofia and a Master’s degree from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.

Laskarov was the winner of the 1995 Bulgarian National Competition and has appeared as a soloist with the Arkansas Symphony, Las Vegas Philharmonic, Southern Illinois Symphony, Abilene (TX) Philharmonic, and the Texarkana (TX) Symphony.
