Welcome to Symphony Irvine's third season!
We look forward to seeing you again for another year of musical delights featuring outstanding young soloists, new works by fresh composers, and (of course) great performances of the classical repertoire.
Musicians! Find out how you can join Symphony Irvine!
Join Symphony Irvine, Dean Anderson, Artistic Director, the Master Chorale of Saddleback Valley, Charles Stephenson, Conductor, and the Orange Community Master Chorale, Michael Short, Musical Director, for two exhilarating performances of Giuseppe Verdi's Requiem. This monumental work for four vocal soloists, choir, and symphony orchestra was composed in memory of one of Verdi's favorite writers, the poet and novelist Alessandro Manzoni. Though originally intended to be used in liturgical settings, it has most frequently been performed as a concert work.
Composed by one of the preeminent opera coposers of the 19th century, Requiem is notably operatic in scope and style, with many of Verdi's signature musical effects much in evidence throughout the work. In Requiem, Verdi successfully combines the best of three musical worlds: vocal solo, choral ensemble, and symphonic orchestra.
We hope to see you at one of our performances.
